Questions & answers

Do I need a Shoutcast or Icecast server?

No. You don't rent or run a streaming server: Pika Radio sends your stream to the Sophey relay, which delivers it to your listeners in 3DXChat.

Is my IP address hidden?

Yes. Listeners connect to sophey.vodka, never to your PC. Your stream goes out through the Sophey relay, or through the classic tunnel if the relay is unavailable.

Do I need to register?

No — guest mode works instantly with a random subdomain. Registered users get their username as a custom subdomain (yourname.sophey.vodka).

Can I sign in with Discord?

Yes, with the Discord account linked to your sophey.vodka account: your browser opens, you confirm, and you are signed in, without typing a password into the app. Going live as a guest still needs no account.

What music can I stream?

Only copyright-free music or music you have the rights to. We trust you know what you are doing.

Does it work with my DJ software?

Yes. In DJ Mode, Pika Radio runs a small Icecast-compatible server on your PC. Point Mixxx, VirtualDJ, butt or any DJ software that can broadcast to Icecast or Shoutcast at it — no virtual audio cable needed. Your track titles show up for your listeners.

How do I play my stream in a 3DXChat room?

Copy your stream URL (yourname.sophey.vodka/stream) from Pika Radio and paste it into the radio in your 3DXChat room. Everyone in the room hears your stream.

Does the music stop when my queue runs out?

Not with Autopilot. Switch it on under Up next: when your queue runs low, Pika Radio adds songs from the YouTube mix of the track that is playing, by other artists. If it finds nothing new, the queue ends as usual; Autopilot never stops your stream.

Can I see Pika Radio while I play 3DXChat?

Yes. The mini player is a small window that stays on top of the game in a borderless window: song, next song, live time and listeners, with pause and skip. In exclusive fullscreen, Windows shows no window on top.

Is Pika Radio free?

Yes, 100% free. No ads, no telemetry, no premium tiers. It is a hobby project by Sophey.

Is Pika Radio an official 3DXChat app?

No. Pika Radio is an independent community project and is not affiliated with or endorsed by 3DXChat.
